Reading a refund list without blaming the listing
28 April 2026
A spike in refunds after a festival week is not automatically a verdict on your screenshots. If the annual plan was discounted and left on, some buyers will reverse once the reminder email arrives. That pattern shows as refunds clustered a few days after renewal, not on the afternoon of purchase.
A broken consumable pack looks different: refunds arrive quickly, often with store free-text that mentions the item name. Billing retry failures look different again—there may be no refund line at all, only a missing conversion.
We ask publishers to bring the refund export and a one-line diary of listing changes. Without the diary, we still read the dates, but we will write “unknown cause” rather than invent a story about competitors.
