Field note
When the store month is not the bank month
12 March 2026
Publishers often treat the store’s “sales month” as the same object as the credit that arrived on the ninth. It rarely is. Apple financial reports close on their own calendar. Google Play earnings can trail a weekend. Withholding the store applies may appear as a thinner proceeds line, not as a separate invoice.
In a George Town sitting we print both calendars on one sheet. We draw a line from units in week two to the payout that landed in week five. The exercise is dull. It stops a team from retiring a weekly pack because “March was down” when March’s coins were still sitting in a hold.
If you only have time for one check before a price-tier change, match last month’s proceeds to the bank credit, then look at refunds. Pack catalogue work can wait until the cash is explained.
